Mouse Cord Manager

I was getting annoyed at my mouse cord catching on things while slinging shells around in Fortnite, so I whipped this together between sessions.

I mounted this to my window sill with a 3M poster strip. The foam in the strip acts like an additional shock absorber. Combined with the springy properties of the PLA, I found it has the perfect amount of springiness for a mouse cord manager. It’ll flex quite a bit without breaking, and return to where it was. It provides gradual feedback as well, meaning, the more it flexes, the more force it takes. This way, you’ll get an early warning when you’re running out of cord, vs. just the cold hard stop of running out.

The opening is sized for the cord on my Razer DeathAdder v2. You need to pinch the cord a bit to get it in. The cloth cover on this cord can deform enough to sort of lock the cord into place. If you have a solid plastic or rubber cord, you may need to adjust the size of the opening. Sorry, this one’s SketchUp too, before I started using F360. I may make a snazzier one sometime when I get bored of this one.

Anyway, while it’s a bit /r/MildlyPenis and might not win any design awards, I’ve been using it for months on the original 3M sticky without issues and functionally I see no need to use anything else.
